Periodontal Cleanings To Prevent Gum Disease

If you show signs of inching toward gum disease, either Dr. Lawrence Fox or Dr. Erik Fox may recommend a deeper cleaning that will vastly improve your oral health. This procedure called scaling and root planing, will begin with the cleaning of tartar and plaque from your teeth above the gums. Once cleaning above the gums is complete, your hygienist will gently remove tartar and plaque from below your gumline. We will slowly clean in between your teeth and gums until we reach the roots of your teeth. Then, we will clean softly clean not only the roots of your teeth but also the periodontal pockets to remove harmful bacteria. After this procedure is finished, your mouth will feel rejuvenated for a good reason because your oral health will have been given a much-needed boost!
